Kayla Green was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised in Orlando, Florida. She attended Florida State University where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Affairs with a concentration in political science. While obtaining her undergraduate degree, she acquired a diverse background in lobbying, environmental non-profit work, political communications and public relations, giving her experience working in and around the capital of Florida, in both the private and public sectors, and in navigating complex political landscapes. She then attended Stetson University College of Law, earning her Juris Doctorate with a Certificate of Concentration in International Law.

Prior to working at Vernis & Bowling, Kayla worked in various fields of law including work in the Corrections Litigation Bureau of the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Florida, pro bono work in immigration law, work in bankruptcy law, estate planning, family law, and real estate law. Since being admitted to the Florida Bar (on her 27th birthday!!), she has focused her practice in the areas of personal injury litigation, including auto liability defense. Kayla originally joined Vernis & Bowling as a law clerk, becoming an associate attorney upon her admittance to the Florida Bar. In her free time, Kayla enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

James Parman was born and raised in Orange City, Florida. He graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with Minors in American Studies and Music. After college, James attended Stetson University College of Law, becoming a “Double Hatter” and earning his Juris Doctorate.

James began working with Vernis and Bowling as a law clerk while still attending Stetson Law, and then became an associate attorney upon his admittance to the Florida Bar. He primarily works on personal injury and automobile accident cases.

When not practicing, James enjoys reading, music, games, and spending time with family and friends.

Tierney Gilmore grew up along the east coast spending time in New Jersey, Florida, Rhode Island, and Boston. She returned to the Tampa Bay area where she obtained her Bar license.

Tierney graduated with honors from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from New England Law | Boston. While attending New England Law, Tierney interned with a variety of public service organizations including New England First Amendment Coalition, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Prior to joining Vernis & Bowling, she gained experience defending insurance carriers in coverage and third-party claims.  She currently handles premises liability and automobile liability claims.

Outside of work, Tierney enjoys exploring downtown St. Pete with her dogs, Kaya, Alice and Poco.

Genevieve is a New York native but has called Florida home since she was one-year old. After graduating from Florida State University, Genevieve accepted a fellowship position with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) administered by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and worked on site in Las Vegas to fulfill the mission of strengthening our nation through nuclear security. The fellowship introduced Genevieve to the field of National Nuclear Security and allowed for continuous learning and advancement.  After much contemplation, she made the decision to move back to Florida to be closer to family and joined Vernis & Bowling.

Genevieve is very thorough and takes pride in her work.   “I want everyone to feel comfortable when they are talking to me and know that I am someone that is trustworthy and approachable.”

Genevieve loves being a part of the community and enjoys volunteering in efforts to keep Florida’s beautiful beaches and waterways clean.  She enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities and spending time with her siblings and nieces and nephews. Genevieve also enjoys her annual trip to the Florida Keys to go diving and often travels abroad.

Caitlin is a Florida native, born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Cailtin attended Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Florida, where she was involved in the Honors College, Chio Omega fraternity, and Student Government. Her involvement on campus led to recognition within Florida Gulf Coast University’s Hall of Fame. After graduating Florida Gulf Coast University, Caitlin took a year and served with the United States AmeriCorp Program and was a Volunteer Coordinator for the University of Central Florida’s Honor’s College. Caitlin attended law school at Tulane University’s School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in law school Caitlin participating in the clinical program, providing aid to victims of domestic abuse.

Since graduating law school, Caitlin has worked in personal injury and property insurance litigation.  Caitlin manages and defenses cases through all stages of personal injury litigation. Caitlin has experience with mediation, trial, and various stages of appeal. Caitlin’s goal is to provide consistent and responsive advise to clients, in addition to voracious advocacy within the courtroom.

Caitlin resides in St. Petersburg with her husband Matthew, daughter Anna, and their dog Ace. Outside of work Caitlin enjoys taking her family to theme parks, enjoying the local beaches, and musical theater.
