Vernis & Bowling’s Atlanta (Chamblee area) office is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience for its growing Workers’ Compensation Department.

You will manage an active workers’ compensation caseload and build direct relationships with clients, all while receiving the guidance and mentorship of our seasoned attorneys to ensure your continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a workers’ compensation defense caseload from inception through resolution, including structured settlements and State Board mediations.
• Handle discovery matters, including taking and defending claimant, employer, and expert medical depositions.
• Draft, prepare, and respond to written discovery and administrative motions pursuant to SBWC rules.
• Assist lead counsel in all phases of hearing preparation and represent clients before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) at the State Board of Workers’ Compensation.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted business relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of workers’ compensation experience (defense experience strongly preferred).
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong legal writing, and analytical skills.
• Enthusiastic, team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic.
