Schuyler is a Nazareth, Pennsylvania native, but has called Miami, Florida home since graduating magna cum laude from the University of Alabama. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
During law school, Schuyler worked in the Health Rights Clinic, a medical-legal partnership with the UM Miller School of Medicine, where she represented low-income patients from the Comprehensive AIDS Program, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Batchelor Children’s Research Institute, Mailman Center for Child Development, and Jackson Hospital. In her two years with the clinic, she represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including successfully advocating for a minor who had been wrongfully denied Social Security disability benefits and the judge issued a fully favorable decision.
Schuyler’s professional experience extends across several sectors of the law. Prior to joining Vernis & Bowling, she clerked with Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies in its workers’ compensation department, where she gained extensive experience handling liens, bulk settlements, and matters involving the Special Investigations Unit. She also interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in the Career Criminal Unit, where she assisted with motions, trial preparation, and court hearings. Additionally, she clerked with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in its Office of General Counsel.
Today, Schuyler represents employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation matters. Her favorite part of practice is helping clients solve problems and making their lives easier.
Outside of work, Schuyler enjoys yoga, traveling, spending time with her dog, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and the New York Giants.
