Cody was born in Texas but calls Georgia home as he has spent most of his life living in and around metro Atlanta. His practice is based in defense litigation, primarily wrongful death, premises liability, automobile liability, and other general liability matters. Cody represents clients from pre-suit litigation up through trial, having success at various stages throughout his legal career.
Cody received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Georgia. After working for a few years in the corporate world, Cody decided to pursue a career in the legal field, and attended the University of Miami School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate. During his time at Miami, Cody clerked for one of the largest maritime defense firms in the Southeast, representing major cruise lines. After graduating from Miami, Cody decided to move back to Georgia to start a family with his wife Rebecca and begin his legal career.
Cody enjoys the challenging nature of being an attorney and the difficulties that come with litigation. His goals as a defense attorney are to meet his clients’ expectations, be responsive to the developments of cases, and pursue whatever outcome that is the best for his clients, whether it be settlement, dispositive motion, or trial. He has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and understands the potential exposure they face with the current landscape of litigation and the potential for nuclear verdicts. His practice works to limit exposure, while also being mindful of cost to his clients.
Cody is a member of the State Bar of Georgia as well as the Florida Bar. He is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in Georgia and Florida, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Away from work, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife Rebecca and their two children. As the son of a forester, Cody grew up outdoors, fishing and hunting, and he tries to get out with his family as much as possible. Cody’s other hobbies include golf, and hanging out with his white lab named Ralph.
