Evelyn Greenstone Kammet graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Legal Studies minor. At Trinity College, Ms. Greenstone Kammet was a member of the National Dean’s list. She was also recognized as a distinguished scholar, having been inducted into Pi Gamma Mu (the International Honor Society for Social Sciences) and Psi Chi (the National Honor Society for Psychology). Ms. Greenstone Kammet continued her education at Stetson University, College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2007.

Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Greenstone Kammet became an Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit, in and for Broward County. As an Assistant State Attorney, Ms. Greenstone Kammet gained valuable jury trial experience as a prosecutor in the Misdemeanor and Felony Trial Units. After leaving the Office of the State Attorney, Ms. Greenstone Kammet transitioned to civil litigation, handling matters including property damage claims and consumer collections claims. Ms. Greenstone Kammet then focused her area of practice on Condominium and Homeowners’ Association Litigation where she litigated declaratory and injunctive relief matters, contract disputes, quiet title actions, election disputes and administrative agency enforcement actions.

Evelyn Greenstone Kammet has successfully represented her clients at both the trial court level and on appeal. In a recent matter, the Third District, by published opinion, affirmed a Miami-Dade Circuit Court’s dismissal with prejudice of a shareholder derivative action, holding that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in adopting the factual findings and legal conclusions of an independent panel appointed pursuant to Fla. Stat. 617.07401, which concluded that maintaining the derivative action was not in the best interest of the corporation. See Cornfeld v. Plaza of the Americas Club., Inc., 273 So.3d 1096 (Fla. 3d DCA 2019).

Ms. Greenstone Kammet manages the Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, and Employment Labor Department of the Firm’s Miami office. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys traveling, live music, and the arts, and she enjoys volunteering with Kids in Distress, Inc.

Kenneth E. Amos, Jr. is the managing attorney for the firm’s St. Petersburg office. He was born in Canton, Ohio and was raised in a small town south of the Pro Football Hall of Fame city. While spending the first twenty-five years of his life in Southeast Ohio, Mr. Amos enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, and country living after working long days as an industrial painter. Mr. Amos married his wife of 30 years in 1995, and shortly thereafter the two relocated to Florida where Mr. Amos earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2003.

While Mr. Amos was in law school, he clerked with a local plaintiff’s attorney for two years and spent his first year of practice in the plantiff’s bar. This experience has prompted Mr. Amos to develop a mentoring program in the St. Petersburg office for law students who are inspiring litigators.

Mr. Amos was first hired as a managing attorney for an insurance defense firm in 2006 where he managed the firm’s St. Petersburg operations. Within months, Mr. Amos was invited to be a managing attorney with a second insurance defense firm where he became a partner in 2008.

Mr. Amos joined Vernis & Bowling in 2011. Mr. Amos has years of trial experience and courtroom experience. In addition to the areas of practice outlined herein, Mr. Amos handles a variety of Medicare and other healthcare lien issues. He also specializes in friendly suits throughout the State of Florida.

Mr. Amos was selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as a 2013 and 2014 Florida Rising Star in the practice area of Insurance Coverage for his work defending sinkhole claims throughout Florida.

He is the past President of the Belle Vista Community Association, and he is the current Chairman of Restore St. Pete Beach, a political committee created for the purpose of supporting or opposing political candidates to promote the restoration of his community following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.   He enjoys traveling with his family to Ohio where he is a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing on the beach and exercising.

Timothy S. Kazee was born in Galion, Ohio. He graduated cum laude from the University of Toledo in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Before graduating college, Timothy completed course work in business and communications through the Walt Disney World College Program, and he went on to serve as his University’s College Program Ambassador. He then completed a Pre-Law Program at Oxford University, England and earned the Program’s highest achievement level.

In 2002, Timothy graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law. During law school, he clerked at a local, litigation law firm and served as an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Legal Intern with Cedar Point Amusement Park, in Sandusky, Ohio.

Timothy is licensed in Florida and Ohio, and he has legal experience in state appellate and federal courts. While at VERNIS & BOWLING of Central Florida, P.A., Timothy has focused his practice on the areas of personal injury litigation and first party property claims, including auto liability defense, fraud / misrepresentation, premises liability, wind storm and water damage claims, and Personal Injury Protection litigation. In addition to defense litigation, his practice includes representing insurance companies in conducting good faith examinations under oath and preparing coverage opinions. He has defended community associations in claims arising from management and resident disputes and understands the value of working with residents, communities, and their insurers to explore prompt and meaningful dispute solutions.

Timothy has served his community as a municipal court mediator, as an Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, and as a University guest lecturer. He has also presented a wide- variety of Continuing Education seminars for insurance companies throughout the state of Florida.

Ashley N. Landrum is originally from Boca Raton, Florida. In 2011, she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature. She attended law school at Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing, Michigan, where she received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2014. While at Michigan State, Ashley was on the Dean’s list Spring 2013, received the Sales and Leases Book Award Fall 2012, and received the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute Certificate. Upon graduation from Michigan State University College of Law, Ashley moved back to the warm, sunny South and joined Vernis & Bowling of Palm Beach in 2014.

Ashley’s areas of practice include: community based care, director and officer liability, employment law, condominium and homeowner association disputes, liability defense, premises liability claims, automobile liability claims, and general insurance defense claims, and appeals. Specifically, she has experience in handling cases from defending clients involved in Federal and State Agency charges of discrimination, handling pre-suit demands, responding to preparing and arguing motions, conducting hearings, depositions, engaging in settlement negotiations and mediations, non-jury trials and appeals. Ashley has appellate experience at the state level in multiple District Court of Appeals and was responsible for all aspects of the appeals including writing briefs, reply briefs and preparing for oral argument.

Ashley strives to ensure she is thoroughly familiar with all aspects of her claims to provide her clients with specific strategies to navigate quick and efficient resolutions of the claim(s) while vigorously advocating for her client in a polite and professional manner. She is a member of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of Court (2019-2020; 2020-2021; 2021-2022), and the Young Lawyer Division. She is licensed to practice in the State of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.

When not in the office, Ashley enjoys reading, going to the spa, spending time with family, and traveling.

Kory R. Watson has been with Vernis & Bowling of the Gulf Coast since July of 2013. Kory was born in Springfield, Illinois. In 2008, he graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. While at UIUC, Kory was President of the Undergraduate Patent Law Society and Treasurer of the Chi Epsilon National Civil and Environmental Engineering Honor Society.

Kory then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, Illinois. After his first year, he was accepted as a member of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal and his work was chosen twice for publication. Kory also served as Vice Justice for the Stephen A. Douglas Chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and as Legal Research Assistant to Professor Patricia McCubbin. He graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law obtaining his Juris Doctorate in 2011. Academic achievements include: Dean’s List, Phi Kappa Phi Award, Academic Excellence Award, and Dean’s Scholarship.

After graduation, Kory entered private practice where he focused on civil litigation in Tampa, Florida, and assisted in the litigation of numerous personal injury cases. In July of 2013, Kory joined Vernis & Bowling of the Gulf Coast, then located in Clearwater, Florida. The Clearwater office was later relocated to St. Petersburg in January of 2015. When Kory is not working he enjoys fishing, wakeboarding, cooking, and watching his favorite sports teams.
