Thomas W. Paradise was born in Houghton, Michigan and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. He graduated in 1988 from Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business with a degree in management, majoring in accounting. While at Tulane, Tom was on the Dean’s List and was a member and Vice-President of the Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Fraternity. He then received his law degree from the Stetson University College of Law in 1991. At Stetson, Tom was on the Honor Roll and was an active member in the Student Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Trial Advocacy Society.

   Tom Paradise, who is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, negligent security and supervision, sexual and physical assaults, governmental tort liability, construction law, insurance subrogation, product liability, premises liability and natural/LP gas explosions.  His practice includes representing major corporations and governmental entities in formulating policies/procedures and risk management concerns. He also defends major insurance companies in first party property claims including issues of breach of contract, fraud, arson and bad faith.

   In 1991 Tom began his practice with the Miami law firm of Angones, Hunter, McClure, Lynch & Williams, P.A. There he worked in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, commercial litigation, and in the areas of complex litigation involving shoddy home construction and Hurricane Andrew. This litigation included several class actions, individual claims for both personal injury and property damage and significant insurance subrogation. Tom joined VERNIS & BOWLING of Broward in October 2002.

   He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1991, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in 1992.

   Tom has participated in the Dade County Bar Association’s Put Something Back Program and the Broward Community Development Corporation. He is currently a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the South Florida Claims Associations.
