Diane G. Cassaro was born in Gainesville, Florida. After graduation from Florida State University in 1991, she went on to obtain her J.D. from FSU, graduating in 1996 with honors. While in law school, she was an executive editor for the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, served as a legislative intern with the Division of Statutory Revision, and received a book award for Alternative Dispute Resolution. She also interned as a judicial law clerk for Judge James Roy Bean, III, of the Third Circuit Court in Perry, Florida, and Judge James Wolf of the First District Court of Appeal. Since her graduation from law school, Diane has practiced largely in the field of insurance defense, with a particular focus on appellate law. Her case citations include
Bocher v. Glass, 874 So. 2d 701 (Fla. 1st DCA 2004) ($3 million wrongful death judgment vacated and remanded for new trial), and
